Multi-Family Tax Exemption (MFTE) Information

Are you qualified? Prospective residents wishing to apply for an income/rent restricted unit in a project participating in the MFTE program, must apply and get income certified at the participating property. It is the responsibility of the property to income qualify prospective tenants for the program. Prospective tenants for the programs should:

  • Read the ARCH MFTE Renter's Guide

  • Inquire directly with properties you are interested in to find out about vacancies

  • All households applying for MFTE must disclose all income sources and have income verified prior to signing a lease.

80% of AMI Resident Qualifications:

  • 1-person home may earn no more than $88,000 annually
  • 2-person home may earn no more than $100,560 annually
  • 3-person home may earn no more than $113,120 annually
  • 4-person home may earn no more than $125,680 annually
  • 5-person home may earn no more than $135,760 annually
  • 6-person home may earn no more than $145,840 annually

115% of AMI Resident Qualifications:

  • 1-person home may earn no more than $126,500 annually
  • 2-person home may earn no more than $144,555 annually
  • 3-person home may earn no more than $162,610 annually
  • 4-person home may earn no more than $180,665 annually
  • 5-person home may earn no more than $195,155 annually
  • 6-person home may earn no more than $209,645 annually
